Hasif is an experienced Senior iOS Engineer with 7+ years of building and scaling mobile apps, currently at Grab. He graduated with a Bachelor of Computer Science (Hons.) from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Shah Alam. He started coding for iOS at 17, and his first app on the App Store was Amalan Mukmin. During his final year, he developed Vacay, an app that suggests vacation spots based on budget, duration, travel style, and preferences. Pretty cool huh?
His other apps include Lylyn App, Hidayah App, and Bantu App. Lylyn and Hidayah once hit #1 and #44 on the App Store Malaysia, while Bantu got featured on BERNAMA and Amanz.my. Fun fact: he built the Boost Business app (Now Boost Biz app) from scratch during his first job, and later became one of the pioneer engineers at GXBank, Malaysia’s first digital bank. Now he’s at Grab, building apps that people actually use every day.
Beyond coding, Hasif co-organizes SwiftLah! Community, a fast-growing Malaysian Swift developer community. He’s spoken at meetups, represented the community at the Apple Developer Center in Singapore alongside organizers from 11 APAC countries, and helps mentor students and developers in the Apple ecosystem.
Hasif admits his love for flying. He loves aircraft, airports and lounges. But doesn’t like turbulence (which makes him think of the worst). He’s an Apple die-hard fan. In his free time, he loves to code, travel and hang out with fellow Swift developers.
